Tyler Simpson

Founder, CEO, DVM

I proudly graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.  While I had a love for small animal medicine and surgery,  it was the genuine connection with clients and the family-like atmosphere of a small private practice that truly captured my heart. I strongly believe that no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.  This realization reinforced my belief that compassion and care are the pillars of exceptional veterinary care.

As a devoted pet parent myself to Emma, Max, and Rex, who are my beloved fur babies, I had a dream of opening a practice that catered to people who share the same passion for their pets as I do. In 2022, that dream became a reality as I founded FurWell Veterinary Hospital, a place where I could work directly with other pet parents to ensure that pets live their best, happiest, and healthiest lives.

If you, too, are a dedicated pet parent and understand the deep bond we share with our four-legged friends, I invite you to join our FurWell family. Together, we can make a positive impact in our community and the world. Your journey with us starts here, and I am excited to welcome you to our pet parent movement. Let’s change the world for the better, one paw at a time!

Mary Tricia White

DVM

Dr. White’s journey in veterinary medicine began at the age of three when she received her first kitten and knew she was destined to care for animals. By age 14, she was already working her first job in a small-town veterinary clinic, helping launch the practice from the ground up. As a dedicated kennel assistant and all-around helper, she assisted in surgeries, answered phones, and even helped pull calves late at night.
Dr. White earned her bachelor’s degree in Ecology from the University of Georgia while continuing her hands-on work in veterinary offices. She pursued her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on St. Kitts Island, completing her final year at The Ohio State University and graduating in 2008. With 34 years of experience, her areas of interest span internal medicine and chronic disease management, with a focus on feline veterinary medicine and fostering the human-animal bond.
In 2020, Dr. White relocated to Upstate South Carolina with her two adventurous daughters, now 11 and 12. At home, she shares her life with her three cats—Huckleberry, Ru Pawl, and Eminem—and her dog, Miss Betty. Outside of work, she enjoys chasing live music and exploring new trails, especially those with waterfalls.
Dr. White is excited to bring her passion and wealth of experience to the FurWell family and looks forward to building lasting relationships with our amazing pet parents and their beloved pets.

Dr. Dave Caldwell

DVM

Dr. Dave brings over a decade of experience in small animal medicine and a lifelong passion for animal care to the FurWell team. A proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, Dr. Dave earned his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2004, followed by a Master’s in 2007, and ultimately his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2011.

For 10 years, Dr. Dave practiced small animal medicine in Georgia, developing a reputation for his thoughtful, thorough approach and his strong relationships with pet parents and their pets. In 2024, he and his wife Molly moved to the Landrum area to be closer to family and enjoy the vibrant equestrian community. They share their lives with 4 horses, 4 dogs, and 3 cats, making their home a true animal haven.

Dr. Dave was raised on a small farm in Waynesville, North Carolina, and that early experience continues to inspire his deep commitment to both animals and the people who love them. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys hiking, camping, horseback riding, and spending time with his animals.

We are honored to have Dr. Dave be part of FurWell’s mission to provide top-tier, personalized veterinary care.

BJ Rogers

DVM

Dr. Bj Rogers grew up in Eastern Kentucky knowing from an early age that veterinary medicine was her calling. In fact, she still remembers standing up in her fourth-grade classroom and confidently announcing that she wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up. True to that promise, she spent her childhood bringing home strays and caring for injured animals whenever she could.

Dr. Rogers attended Western Kentucky University before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She relocated to South Carolina in 2001 and went on to spend the majority of her career at Upstate Vet Emergency & Specialty Care, where she served as a highly skilled emergency clinician. Her years in emergency medicine shaped her calm, decisive approach and deep commitment to helping pets and families during their most critical moments.

In recent years, Dr. Rogers provided relief veterinary services throughout the Upstate before finding a truly great fit with Vet Near Me by FurWell, where she is excited to continue practicing high-quality, compassionate care in a community-focused setting.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Rogers enjoys spending time with her husband, her four children, and her two grandchildren. She loves hiking, reading, and proudly shares her home with three dogs and two cats.
